What Happens When You’re Oversold

As you may know, due to overwhelming demand on the heels of our June 2nd launch, I made the difficult decision to temporarily shut down our author acquisitions. We are virtually sold out for months at our current capacity so we will no longer be offering free strategy sessions or taking new leads from our marketing channels because we need to focus our efforts on doing our very best for the people we have.

I got a text last night that TOTALLY freaked me out. One of my clients was concerned that we were starting to RESCIND offers we have made to current clients. I need to make it very clear that the OPPOSITE is true.

IF YOU HAVE PUBLISHED A BOOK WITH US OR ARE IN THE PROCESS OF DOING SO – YOU HAVE THE SUPPORT OF ME AND THE ENTIRE TEAM AT THE AUTHOR INCUBATOR TO MAKE YOUR BOOK OR BOOKS THE BIGGEST POSSIBLE SUCCESS!

The reason I halted our author acquisitions activity until we increase capacity is that I want to make sure we maintain the same level of personal attention to everyone who comes through our programs and not go the route of becoming an impersonal volume player.

To our amazing authors whose success, belief and hard work has led so many people to our door, my heart is filled with crazy love, gratitude, and pride in you all. Because I am so grateful to you I have reserved the few remaining spots in our programs for your referrals. Without you I would not be where I am today and I want to make it very clear that I’m 100% dedicated to serving you to my fullest ability – including helping your peers who have supported your own growth through our program because, having witnessed your journey, they are the people who fully understand the passion and commitment it takes to really be successful with their books. If you are one of these peers, your best (and only) way to reach the top of the pile is to reach us through one of our published authors.

After years of being able to serve most qualified prospects when they asked, it feels like a huge change NOT to be able to help right now. But it’s also taken a lot of coaching to prepare myself to do this and I wish I’d known what this would be like before I came to it. To all our authors who are out there building their practices and businesses with their books I highly recommend taking a little time to reflect on how things will be for you when you end up in this position.

It came down to what was important to me-making sure our authors are served to our fullest ability!

I really hope we will be able to open up our program again in a couple of months and in the meantime serve our clients and their referrals at the highest possible level.
