On this episode of Book Journeys, Angela interviews Pleasance Silicki, author of Delight: Eight Principles for Living with Joy and Ease.
Pleasance is a yoga instructor and has owned a yoga studio for eight years and had used the principles she writes about in Delight to help her navigate the inevitable challenges inherent in running a business. For her, writing out the book was a natural progression of her being a teacher and an instructor, so much so that she, herself, describes Delight as a handbook that helps her deal with those who seek her help, as the issues that have consistently been brought up to her attention are those that are addressed in the book.
For Pleasance, being involved in Angela’s program was a lot like being trained as a yoga instructor, as she found the feedback given to her, as she proceeded through the process, very helpful. Pleasance needed to move around and reflect as she wrote the book, and she needed to do so particularly when she was writing out one part of the book that really affected her.
To would-be authors, Pleasance recommends to stick to the deadlines given, to keep moving forward, to not overthink things and to be consistent in planning one’s day and writing times.
